Hey there! Welcome to The Daily Grind, where we understand that in this digital age, every writer feels like they're just one autocorrect away from being replaced by a machine. That’s why we've created a spot that’s more than just a coffee shop; it’s a sanctuary where coffee doesn’t just wake you up, it stirs your creative soul. Here, caffeine is your co-author, helping you out-write, out-create, and outlast any AI. Because let's face it, even the most advanced AI can't savor the aroma of a freshly brewed cup or the angst of a writer’s block!
P.s. The Daily Grind is a (currently) hypothetical coffee shop through which we are explaining our offerings so that you have a robust understanding of the "Why" & the "How". Don't worry, the focus is still on you, the entrepreneur, not on writers, unless you're a writer & an entrepreneur, in which case, we've got your back!
As we brewed more of our signature blends for founders meeting potential cofounders, our thoughts steeped deeper into what it truly takes to help someone find the perfect co-founder. For many, searching for a co-founder is akin to e-commerce shopping—you know you want something, but specifics are foggy. You scroll and scan until something catches your eye, and often, that 'something' is merely familiar or relatable, not necessarily the best fit for your startup, the market, or the vast time investment in your venture.
In our journey, we've encountered some of the most unlikely co-founder pairings imaginable. Picture this: a consolidator teamed up with a visionary—tears the team apart. Or two founders with ~90% similar backgrounds, trying hard to evade work outside their expertise until the other picks it up. Startups often falter not due to a lack of ideas, but due to founding teams that clash more than they collaborate. For instance, Harvard Business School professor Noam Wasserman highlights that 65% of high-potential startups fail due to co-founder conflicts. This inspired one of our favourite motivational posters, prominently placed by our newest recruit, G2 —
"Mismatched founders: the fastest way from startup to shut down."
Previously working at a bar, G2 became a fan of "Pitchers". Now, G2's sole mission is to mirror who you are from a co-founder's perspective and guide you in seeking the ideal cofounder, defining the roles that best suit each of you.
Since G2 works with you to help search for your cofounder, he calls his service...
*pun intended*...
Co-finder.
def. the one who works with you to find your co-founder
1. Hand over the PDF version of your LinkedIn Profile to G2.
2. G2 summons its alternate ego, the one that wakes up and chants "Tu Beer Hai!" every day, to review your profile through the eyes of a potential co-founder.
3. Switching back, G2 asks a set of personalized questions to gauge your decision-making and thought processes.
4. Consolidating all the insights, G2 crafts a concise profile about your persona as a co-founder and the type of cofounder you should be on the lookout for.
Final step—G2 isn't quite the report wizard yet, so he sends his findings back to us through an API. Just hit approve, and give us a minute or so—it's worth the wait.
Will
- G2's Co-Finder magically find your co-founder? Hardly.
- G2 align the stars for your cofounder to appear? Doubtful.
But what G2 promises is a clearer path to understanding your role in the founding team and enhancing your chances of finding a co-founder who truly complements you.
Ah, I think G2 heard us—he’s eager to start. Ready when you are!
